Camp Information for Parents

Health and Safety
Your daughter’s safety is our top concern. Each camp meets standards set by the girl Scouts of the U.S.A. and the Montana Department of Health Services. Each camp is staffed by qualified RN’s or EMT’s. Medical facilities are close by each camp location. Campers receive a health screening within 24 hours or arrival. The health supervisor looks for illness, injury or communicable disease and verifies health information. Parents will be notified of any concerns. Campers will be assisted in taking medication if arrangements are made in advance.

Physical Exams
Each girl attending camp must provide a health exam done within 24 months of attending camp, signed by a licensed physician. A current tetanus vaccination as well as health history signed by the custodial parent are also required.

*Insurance: Health and accident insurance covers all campers in a secondary position behind the family’s primary insurance. The cost is included in the camp fee. Pre existing illnesses or conditions are not covered.

Bunk Buddies
Going to camp with a buddy can make camp more fun especially for first time campers. Special arrangements will be made if two girls or more girls wish to bunk in the same cabin.

Girl Support
Financial support is availble to girls registered in Girl Scouts of Big Sky Council. The Council provides an opportunity for all girls to attend camp. Proceeds from the cookie program and special contributions are used for scholarship assistance to those who would not otherwise be able to attend. Partial support may be requested. A scholarship form is located on the web-site under forms.
